Use the property's own records
Start with your property condition report and the instructions supplied by your property manager. Different homes and agreements have different requirements. A generic checklist cannot determine your obligations or guarantee a bond outcome.
Work room by room
List kitchen surfaces, bathrooms, floors and accessible edges separately. Note appliances, cupboards and other extras explicitly. Identify repairs and damage separately from cleaning so expectations are clear.
Coordinate moving and cleaning
Allow for furniture removal before the final clean and discuss access to water and electricity. Check when keys must be returned and leave time to review the completed scope before handover.
Keep useful records
Keep your agreed checklist, correspondence and any invoices together. Take dated photographs of the property condition where appropriate, avoiding people and private information. Raise disagreements with the relevant party rather than assuming a cleaning service guarantees acceptance.
