Map the shared spaces
List reception, meeting rooms, kitchens, bathrooms and common walkways. Note the approximate size, typical use and any areas with more frequent attention needs.
Protect confidential work
Explain which desks, storage areas and equipment must not be touched. Ask staff to put away sensitive papers. Cleaning access should not include passwords, customer records or unnecessary access to business systems.
Set an access plan
Identify an authorised point of contact and agree arrival, lock-up and alarm procedures privately. Set out any induction or property-access requirements before an appointment is agreed.
Define frequency and review
Separate routine tasks from periodic extras. Use a written checklist to review whether the scope still matches the workplace. A clear brief is more useful than an open-ended promise to clean everything.
